💧Residents for Resilience (R4R)
R4R is an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit — and we’re just getting started.
We proudly operate without membership dues or fees, but to expand our public outreach, launch community-driven waterway remediation projects, and bring our resilience initiatives
to more neighborhoods, we need your support.
Your tax-deductible donation helps us:
💧 Support our Students for Resilience (S4R) program, including internships, mentoring with our expert team, hands-on fieldwork, and student showcase events
🌿 Aid in nature-based waterway restoration efforts, including oysters, mangroves, and biochar filtration
📡 Fund a real-time water quality monitoring program with frequently updated, easy-to-use, easy-to-understand public data
🌊 Host community workshops — including our Waterlogged events — featuring marine water experts, flood-mitigation specialists, and environmental leaders
🏞️ Advocate for long-term, nature-based stormwater and flood-mitigation solutions, including retrofitting public parks for resilience and temporary stormwater storage
⚠️ Advocate for improved safety signage at waterways testing high for bacteria or other pollutants, ensuring residents are aware of health risks in real time
🔬 Establish our Marine Water Research Hub at George English Park, a first-of-its-kind collaboration with the University of Miami and the City of Fort Lauderdale focused on marine research, water quality innovation, education, and environmental restoration
📣 Launch our Waterway Awareness Billboards & Student Art Competition:
Creating a public-education campaign featuring memorable slogans and student-designed artwork on billboards and community signage. Funding enables collaboration with billboard companies and advertising agencies to elevate essential messages about protecting our waterways.
If you are choosing to support a special cause this season, we hope you’ll stand with R4R
and contribute to our tireless efforts to protect South Florida’s water and future.
With gratitude,
Suzee
